Rhinoplasty
Whether the surgery is desired for functional or cosmetic reasons, your choice of a qualified facial plastic surgeon is of paramount importance. Your surgeon will examine the structure of your nose, both externally and internally, to evaluate what you can expect from rhinoplasty. Rhinoplasty (reshaping of the nose) is a very popular procedure that can make profound differences not only in the balance of facial features, but also in a person’s self-esteem. The aesthetic improvements that a rhinoplasty surgeon can make include decreasing or increasing the size of the nose, altering the tip or bridge of the nose, and narrowing or changing the shape of the nostrils.
Otoplasty
Otoplasty (reshaping or reforming ears) is most commonly performed to correct prominent ears by setting them back closer to the head. However, otoplasty may also refer to correction of a number of different ear deformities. Otoplasty can be performed at any age after the ears have reached full size, usually around five to six years of age. Not only is it possible to “pin back” ears, but ears can also be reshaped, reduced in size, or made more symmetrical. Even if the ears are only mildly distorted, the condition can lead to self-consciousness and poor adaptation to school. When it comes to otoplasty, conventional wisdom is the earlier the better.
Split Earlobe Repair
Split earlobes are most commonly the result of trauma from heavy or dangling earrings that create a slit in the earlobe that begins at the point of piercing and continues to the base of the ear lobe.
